Our Team & Editorial Process
Who writes Home Wellness Science, and how we make sure the advice is grounded in real research.
Xiujun Ma
Founder & Editor
Xiujun Ma is the founder and editor of Home Wellness Science, where he researches and edits evidence-based guides on sleep, nutrition, supplements, air and water quality, fitness, and the home environment. His focus is translating peer-reviewed research into practical, no-hype guidance.
How We Write Articles
Every article on Home Wellness Science follows the same workflow:
- Research: We start with peer-reviewed literature — meta-analyses and systematic reviews first, individual randomized trials second, and observational studies for context. Government and clinical-society guidelines (WHO, NIH, AAFA, ACSM) help frame practical recommendations.
- Drafting: Writers translate the evidence into plain language and cite each non-obvious claim with a link to the original source.
- Editorial review: Drafts are checked for accuracy against the cited sources, internal consistency, and clarity. We flag any claim where the underlying evidence is weak or contested rather than overstating it.
- Update cycle:Articles are revisited when meaningful new research is published. Updates are reflected in the article's last-modified date.
Editorial Standards
- Evidence first: All content is grounded in peer-reviewed research and expert consensus. Where evidence is limited, we say so plainly.
- Transparent sources: Studies are linked inline so readers can verify the claim themselves.
- No hype: We avoid sensational claims and miracle-cure framing.
- Honest limitations: Sample size, methodology, and generalizability caveats are stated rather than hidden.
- Affiliate independence: Recommendations are made on the merits. Affiliate relationships do not influence which products we cover or how we rank them.
What We Are Not
Home Wellness Science publishes educational content, not medical advice. We are not a clinic, we do not treat conditions, and our content is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified healthcare provider. Always consult a clinician before starting a new supplement, making significant dietary changes, or treating a medical condition.
